About Us - San Francisco Quilt Shop in Mazatlan

Founded by the visionary quilter Linda Hannawalt, San Francisco Quilt Shop has grown from a personal passion into a creative hub in the heart of Mazatlán, Sinaloa.

Linda's Quilting Journey

Linda Hannawalt's quilting story began in the unlikeliest of places – during a cruise through Alaska in 2006. What started as a casual exploration of quilting soon blossomed into a full-time creative pursuit. Inspired by patterns and techniques, Linda quickly mastered the art, creating over 500 quilts. Her unique designs blend traditional quilting with modern artistry.

The Shop's Story

Linda's passion led her to open San Francisco Quilt Shop in Mazatlán in 2017. The name "San Francisco" holds special meaning, tribute to Linda's hometown in California. Today, the shop is recognized for its extensive fabric selection, high-quality materials sourced globally.

A Hub for Community and Craftsmanship

Linda's vision extended far beyond retail. She believes quilting brings people together, fostering a creative, inclusive community. Under her leadership, San Francisco Quilt Shop became a gathering place for quilters of all levels.

A working woman is a woman changing the world.

Empowering the Community Through Quilting

Beyond fabric and patterns, Linda is committed to giving back. The shop partners with local non-profits, hosting workshops teaching entrepreneurial skills through quilting. "Quilting for a Cause" projects support charitable events, fundraising efforts, and donation drives.

Looking Ahead

Today, San Francisco Quilt Shop remains a creative cornerstone in Mazatlán's Centro Histórico. As the shop grows, Linda's focus remains on cultivating a love for quilting while empowering her community.
